Project Overview

Available and affordable housings could take long to find in Toronto. Those busy young professionals need quick and accurate rental information. The digital platform should be easy-to-use, reliable, resourceful that can help users approach to their ideal living places.

How might we assist renters in a metropolitan are, with a mobile app, to connect with an ideal housing resource and sign the lease with less physical and communicative barrier?

 
 

The Journey

Dividing the “find my dream home” process into four major phases: set the expectations, search for a place, have the showing, sign the lease, the typical users for this app is will operate bunch tasks through each phase. Different emotions could be triggered. During the brainstorm session, potential solutions can be assigned to each phase.

Finding Issues

Some issues were concluded through user journey:
[ ] wide range of housing listing with easy and accessible filters and sorting
[ ] going back to the listing and start the connection inside the app
[ ] information security

Scopes

This rental app design challenge displays two major features: save the listing in “my favourite” section so that users can easily find the places they like. Initiating the interested places directly through the app with easy communication manner and interfaces.

Wireframes are aligned with those major tasks. To better the flow itself, the early phase usability test is conducted here to ensure the product fits in users’ habits of using a rental app on a mobile device.
